Mama Mia!

Hello Beautiful

Yesterday (and the week before) was such a blissful occasion. In India, we celebrated Diwali or Deepawali as a gesture of triumph of good over evil. Some celebrate the occasion by bursting cracker (majority which is reducing) while others like me, decorate their homes, make rangoli, dress up, put heena or mehendi. It's my FAVORITE FESTIVAL of the year. I don't know; there is this sweet smell in the air that makes me smile endlessly.

This is what I wore for the occasion and you can also see how my mom decorated the home.

With all this festivity around that won't stop until New Year; I decided to check out FashionMia

http://www.fashionmia.com/Products/plain-bowknot-modern-jumpsuits-150204.html

http://www.fashionmia.com/Products/round-neck-floral-printed-bodycon-dress-162537.html

I like how there are multiple colors in same designs and that their outerwear section is flooded with coats which is exactly what we need since it's going to get chilly soon.
They also have an app ready for those who like to shop on-the-go.
Their Halloween sale Ends on 1st Nov which has upto 50% off on great items.
For greater ease of customers, they have 3 sections marked red- New In, Top Sellers & Flash Sale. I think this is a prerequisite for any fashion website depending upon customers' needs.

And now, it's time for ratings.

I mean for REAL

Hello folks. When I was a child (and even when my brother was a child- 5 years ago!), I loved inflatable mickey mouse swings where you laugh so hard that you almost pee your pants and later you jump so hard that you break watches and other pieces jewellery. Do you remember these fun things where you spend INR 10/20 for half n hour and request the owner for five minutes more? :D

I don't know if such inflatables are there abroad but in India we can encounter these in malls, events and even marriages where parents can enjoy without a care while their children lose hours in these games. Such was my amazement when Inflatable zone approached me. It's fun, it's innovative and I was like "Why not?"

So when you think of inflatables, you think of large bubble shaped material where you can imagine yourself running and bumping into other inflatable heads. No! While this may sound interesting for a while, it gets mundane and you lose interest over time. So these crazy guys developed unique set of inflatables which are soccer ready. What I mean is that you can play bubble football, have fun and not get hurt! It looks so fun (check out the video below) that I want one inflatable for myself and wouldn't mind getting rolled over by some large guy because hey!, I can't get hurt physically.

https://www.inflatable-zone.com/free-shipping-1-5m-knocker-ball-zorb-soccer-body-zorb-ball-human-hamster-ball-loopy-ball-half-blue.html

Now you must be worried about the inflatable's security? You should be! It endures tons of pressure when two large bodies bump into each other on field :D So my worries were put to rest when I read about other reviews online and also, when I watched this video. The great thing about them is their R&D which is the only thing companies should focus on, right now. You can sell a great product but a product is made great by its happy customers.

You can try this large zorb ball first which has free shipping after watching their youtube videos.

Just be safe and get inflated!

Hello Winter :)

Winter has finally set foot in Delhi and I'm not as happy as I look in below pictures. Firstly, it's winter! Secondly, smog (One of the reasons Delhi has been in news recently) then it's so friggin' cold :X I mean come on!!! So much of hairfall, static charge in the atmosphere, swollen fingers, getting up in the morning to start my day by exercising: I mean, you don't even sweat!
Okay, I'll stop coming out to be as a negative person and be the happy idiot I am :)

So these shoes came a few days back and it fits! It's such a relief when the order is exactly what you'd hoped for. I'm yet to figure out how often and with which type of outfit to wear them since they are white and look formal. Nevertheless, white is right!

I'm so thankful to the kind people of Zaful. Their products are so good, reliable and unique that you just cannot stop at one! Check out their bags (especially), shoes and dresses: you'd know what I'm talking about.

I was thinking ideas of my next post and that's when it hit me; I haven't shown you guys pictures of my trip to Singapore. The reason is also very clear- that was the time when I became an instagrammer. The only reason why I had an account and didn't post pictures regularly was because I didn't have any! Come Singapore and I had hundreds. So here you go: part 1 of the many posts that you will see on my blog every now and then.

On our way to Gardens by the Bay
Singapore is such an incredible place to have a vacation in; I know now. One day we were sitting at home and I came across this post about cheap destinations (flight) from India. While Singapore isn't really that cheap but it came last in the list. I happened to just check the prices of flight and made a list of places we can go to, in descending order. I pitched (yes pitched) the idea to my dad and he asked me to check hotel prices of Singapore. By evening, I was checking what one can do in Singapore and the price attached to it. Within a week of it, I was planning itinerary! The thing about planning and akanksha is that, we can never go wrong. I love planning so this was like my very own baby. I planned each and every hour with back-up places to visit so that we can utilize maximum from the 4-day trip. We had so much fun you guys so if anyone needs an itinerary/tips for Singapore then let me know. I promise I won't charge a penny ;)

Call me crazy but I'm counting the number of friends (on Facebook) that are getting engaged/married. Of my 500 friend list, get this; 58 are settled down! This is the number whom I've shared a laughter with during the course of my life. Isn't that a lot? Have you ever done such a (stupid?) thing? Tell me your number in the comments below ;)

Speaking of something beautiful and worth sharing on social media is Prom Night! Well, being in India and a fan of Hollywood, I've felt both jealous and dreamy thinking about such an event hosted at school premises!

Firstly, the only time we wear gowns are at a friend's wedding or our own cocktail party. Secondly, it happens so early in life that we get to act adult which we always wanted as a school kid and look extremely beautiful or handsome at our best. So when I found this website where you can customize your gown or filter on the basis of silhouette, hemline and neckline: I was playing around the fields to get a perfect one.

While all is good an said; the one baggage we cannot seem to remove is the 'price-tag'. Now, with the advent of shopping websites which are at once selling similar gowns without any surety of the fit or WYSIWYG, you will be confused! So I found the filtering option works best for me. The price tag is no longer an issue since they sell cheap prom dresses with the quality quite remarkable on the looks of it. Ofcourse if you are still unsure, you can always contact the customer care.

Hey peeps

These words, mean everything! I mean look at people around you. Eighty percent of them do not want you to be happy, fall in love or travel freely because they couldn't or can't. They want you to live your life the way they had even if they had promised themselves that they will treat you differently than how their loved ones treated them. And I'm talking about those who matter to you. Those who don't, needn't be the steering in your drive :)

I've always been positive, determined and hard working throughout my life. When things pull me down, I quickly think of 2-3 things that instantly distract me and do them! Distracting is good. Distracting doesn't mean you are ignoring your feelings or thoughts. It means that if the thoughts were important or would do you any good then they will jump right up in your happier times. I've decided that whenever things affect me on conditions that I can' do anything about it: then I just try to live each day, one day at a time; one step at a time :)

So winters are finally here in Delhi and I couldn't be more sad. I mean I hate winters, that's true but they just make morinings all the more difficult. I wore this woolen sleeveless top underneath my overalls that I received from Zaful.com. The combination was so killer that everybody commented two things

- Aren't you cold?
- Wow! You look great!

When people you don't talk to often, say this; it means something doesn't it?
Also, No I wasn't cold because this top from 8th grade (yes I'm still tiny and I save) is so warm that I was actually sweating all day with red cheeks!
Enjoy the post and let me know if you want to see anything different in the way I post-look-blog interface: anything!

Hello people

How many times have you dropped down low, gotten up; only to be disappointed again? Many a times it so happens that we digest are pain either by enjoying it or accepting that it is a part of life and when we do so, we hope for so much more than we were hoping before but fail to realize that we need double the energy now lest we fail again. Each time you try the same thing, do so with more efforts and more positivity. We fail to realize the impact, positive thoughts have on our daily lives. Take for e.g. showering. You enter into the shower, put soap then rise, dry yourself and come out. This is a normal routine for most of us. On another note- imagine that you get up with a smile and remind yourself to give your best today no matter what. Now with these happy thoughts, you enter into the shower and do everything mentioned above. The only difference being, you are either singing, dancing or smiling or doing everything at once. Do not tell me this never happens! Try it, you will be surprised as to how your day changes :)

So when this little cutie came to me, I was just extremely happy to be having something Gold that I do not have to wear it on my wrist/neck/ears. I'm not very fond of Gold: more-so, golden! Zaful has just what makes me happy. I'm so happy with their products and service that it's almost an addiction to check their website time and again. For now, you should go and check them out.

Hello Fashionistas

I'm back with another outfit post. This is the second part to my Singapore Diaries. Read the first one here. Universal Studios is just a dream come true. Heaven truly resides here.
On the second day of our trip, we visited the much awaited Universal Studio. There are seven islands in the studios namely- The lost world, Ancient Egypt, Sci-Fi city, New York, Hollywood, Madagascar and Far Far away.
So I had a good read about all these islands and tips & tricks to make the Day (yes you require one full day) pleasant.

1) Resist clicking pictures until after you've had covered half the park. There will be plenty of time to click pictures but the more the day proceeds towards the evening, the queue increases.

2) Be sure to absolutely have these rides if you are going to Universal Studios in Singapore:
  • The transformers ride which is located at sci-fi city.
  • Ancient Egypt for “revenge of the mummy” ride which is indoor roller coaster. Here you have to put your backpack in locker. (free for 30 minutes)
  • Now head for The Lost World to enjoy “Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure ride”. In this ride, you might get wet. So wear your poncho or raincoat before entering. If you don’t have one, you can buy one from there.
  • After that you can go for the “Battlestar Galactica”. This is a outdoor roller coaster which has two tracks, Cylon (blue track) and Human (red track). Cylon is more adventurous than Human.
  • Here you have to put your backpack in locker. Remember to empty your pocket. Other attractions you should not miss are: Shrek 4-D, Madagascar: a crate adventure, Light Camera Action, “Water World” show.
  • Pay attention to “Character Meet and Greet” timings displayed outside on the board
  • Skip Monster Rock show, beach party go round and treasure hunter. (internet research)
Just enjoy the rides and the day that is laid out in front of you.

Enjoy the rest of my post

I'm so excited to be celebrating this year with family (after 2 years in Mumbai). Actually, I'm excited when it comes to 'celebration' and/or 'family'.

"Anyway, this year is no different than previous years nor is this day any different from yesterday."
Do not appreciate such people who say the above line. I mean, every day is something to celebrate about and there's no harm in dedicating one day to something- Mother's, father's, love or friendship.
Agreed that all of those things are eternal and you don't need to dedicate a day for them but hey, if that's the case: I'd appreciate it if you don't celebrate your birthday or anniversaries then. Celebrate mother's day on your mother's birthday (or your birthday to be technically correct) for all I care; but don't crib if somebody wants to celebrates it.

Phew! I went overboard, didn't I? Let's fill this space with positivity and love now. I'm going to start Cassey's #28dayChallenge: not cos it's New Year but that's the time when it's coming. If you don't know who Cassey is then google Blogilates and that's what I've been doing for an year now. She has made me fall in love with my body, be healthy and basically enjoy my workouts. I feel guilty if I don't do pilates in the morning (Yes, I'm a morning person). I'm super energized to workout even when I'm sick. I'm a kind of person who finds happiness even in small things and tries to finds happiness in each day. There are days when I don't have anything to be happy about and Pilates come to rescue. *Feel good hormones*, welcome :)

Here is my New Year's outfit. Now that my wardrobe is essentially complete (but one-mustard) with this burgundy overcoat; I'm wearing it every week now. This cozy muffin is so warm; so soft and not to mention, so huge for my size that I don't require any outfit underneath ;) This burgundy overcoat is from dressystar who have some excellent overcoat choices. Enjoy the rest of the post and let me know how you find my new coat ^_^

Hi all

I'm so in a coat(room) drama this winter! ;)

You can only have a few overcoats to yourself said no girl ever. They give me the Blair feels. The fact that you can wear them with practically everything and are of different lengths, material & designs; makes me want to own all of the best ones in town.

I've always wanted a beige overcoat and this I found a classic one at Zaful. I've become such a fan of their products and I'm pretty sure that if I continue shopping from their site then half of what I wear would be from them. But, who's to care? Online shopping is finally paying off well and shopping from Zaful has been a treat. Kudos to their customer support team for being so efficient in timely responses and deliveries.

Hope you enjoy rest of the post :)

Hey all

This is the third in my Singapore series. Look where all I went on my Day 1 and Day 2. I was star-struck on my 3rd day in Singapore. Met so many celebrities and had a gala time with them. It was mostly a one-sided conversation since they were keen listeners and patient posers. Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio, Madhuri Dixit, etc. were some of the celebrities I happened to meet all in one room- Madame Tussauds' in Singapore.

Was so pleased by the few hours I had spent with them that I decided to hit the beach and see some light. We went to Siloso and palawan beaches in Singapore which are in the same coastline. Beaches make me so happy that I don't mind the blazing sand or the bright sun on my skin. I'm more of a sunny person and dislike being closer to the mountains and/or colder places. You can understand my plight when I tell you that I'm back in Delhi and how freezing the temperature here is (according to me). Even the thought of beach sends warm feelings throughout.
After spending a good amount of time getting tanned; we proceeded towards the Sentosa Fun Pass inside the island. I researched so much about these rides and discovered that the following ride/places would be most eventful in Sentosa Island, singapore. I chose the 5 rides pass.

1) Madame Tussauds- Wax statue of celebrities
2) Images of Singapore LIVE (compulsory if you take Madame Tussauds)
3) S.E.A. Aquarium- World's largest walk-in aquarium
4) Trick Eye Museum- Goes by its name and,
5) Skyline Luge- Most fun thing to do!

Now, Enjoy the pictures!

Hey all

You might feel warm and cozy when you see these grey crochet warmer gloves and trust me; they are! My hands and feet are the most winter prone body part during chilly temperatures. Feet is taken care of due to shoes and socks (#2) but due to our constant need for being online: I had to constantly switch between bare and gloved hands. When I got my hands on these warmers; I was relieved that finally something useful and fashionable is available out there.

I paired these grey woolen gloves with an all-black attire and carried a black faux leather bag to go with the look. Let me know your thoughts about it.

Btw, how's life treating you guys? I hope everyone has a reason to smile each day. If not, let your smile be the reason to smile some more. (I know I heard it; didn't make any sense).

Hey all

This post is the last to my Singapore series. You can look at Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3 posts by clicking on the above links. On my last day in Singapore, I wore this pleasant blue lace romper. Keeping in mind that we were to spend the day among birds and frolic on Orchard street.

Talking about Orchard street: sure it's big with plethora of brands, clean and beautiful yet I didn't find it reasonable on the pocket or anything that you wouldn't find it in any part of the country. Nevertheless, I found these amazing pair of shoes which I wear almost every day now! Little heavy on the pocket but I didn't want to leave Singapore empty-handed. Also, a thing about Chinatown- It's gorgeous at night and is a bit up-scaled in terms of 'flee market' and I loved every bit of the view. The collection at shops, the lights, crowd, food and the fruit market as well! Must visit is Little India if you miss Indian food while in Singapore. People also say that the Mustafa market of Singapore is a 'must-visit place' but I beg to disagree. It's your ordinary supermarket where you would find Indian faces, buying Indian groceries and nothing else. But still if you may, go to this familiar place if you are missing some relation :)

The main attraction of the day was Jurong Bird Park. It was beautiful, magical and relaxing. Just what I needed on the last day! Take a note of the bird shows before going since you don't wanna miss the fun it is! I mean really fun! Otherwise it is your normal bird zoo with a long walk. You can make a nice family day of it if nothing else :)

Enjoy the pictures!

will be my second home

Right before when you are about to give up on something, life gives you the same thing from a different angle and then; all of a sudden, you begin to love it or at least do something to accommodate the change. I have always disliked Mumbai (from the bottom of my heart) but before I left it; we developed a love-hate relationship. Love from Mumbai, Hate from me. But the day I left it, I realized how much I'm leaving with it. The friends I had made, the food I had wished was a bit spicier, the weather to be a little more generous and most of all- the rains to just stop being so heavy on us! Everything said and done, I knew I'd miss it because of the company I'd keep but I couldn't be more wrong. It taught me everything I'm proud of today!
So, I was more than happy to accompany dad for his friend's daughter's wedding. Met friends and made a day out of it.

Here's the outfit that keeps coming back to me. I can wear it Dungaree style, 70s style or just the formal way! This is my favorite style and I cannot wait to explore more in the same version.

Hi Friends

Fictitious Fashion wishes you a very Happy Holi. Today Holi is celebrated across India with colors and sweets. On the occasion of colors, I'm wearing this beautiful blue dress that I have been holding (read: hoarding) in my closet for months now. Maybe I was waiting for my body to achieve this state?
Girls, please be honest with me: Does looking this slim is weird or fine? (Let me know if you have better words). I'm trying to be fit & happy but instead losing fat from undesirable places (>_<) Help me people!!!

On totally other note, I had not worn heels for a long time because of my sprained ankle on my flat foot. These babies are so versatile and comfortable (if someone knows hot walk in heels) that I just can't stop thinking about outfits to wear them with. So I decided to pair them with my hoarded dress and keep the rest of the look simple.

This dress from Zaful can be worn when thinking of elegance. The color is so royal and material so good that it reminds me of the time where royal blue was my go-to color.

Guys, BTW, Mr. A is back ;) So we went out for a beautiful day ahead of us.

Enjoy the rest of the post

My Homecoming

Hi all :)

Schools are the most exciting years of ones' life. I remember mine: I was ever so happy to return to school and had at least one makeover to flaunt. It could be a new haircut, fitted uniforms, some accessory or even a nail paint. I had the liberty to experience two kinds of school atmospheres- Catholic and Co-ed. Both were fun in their own ways and I couldn't be more glad to leave the former and come the latter at the right age.

We used to have small parties near canteen and the first week saw murmurs of where the unofficial should be held at. Deciding the venue was only the beginning of the 2-week long ride. Studies were minimal and party related talks were the only thing one could talk about.

So while reminiscing about my school days last week, my homecoming search led me to Dresstells.com. They have a beautiful collection of  wedding, prom and homecoming dresses that would actually make you miss school very much. I secretly wish ordering one for myself; even if I don't have any party to attend to :P Just wear these beautiful dresses at home and chill all day. (Inspiration: FRIENDS)

I post-convocated, finally!!! I can proudly say that my post-graduation days were better than my graduation ones. The 2 years of my life taught me more than the 4 of graduation! It made me more confident, independent and happy. All of this wouldn't have been possible without Mumbai being what it is- beautiful :)

So obviously, it was my special day and I had to pick up something classy. I had worn a neutral colored jumpsuit at my farewell and got the much appreciated comments. Check out the post here.

My burgundy obsession was (and still isn't) not over so at least one thing I was sure of; the outfit had to be in burgundy. Next thing which I have been trying to find is a classy suit which I can wear on such special occasions. I went online, searched a little bit about customized suits in Delhi NCR and found this new brand called StitchMe. I wasn't sure if they'd be having the perfect color I was looking for so decided to ring them a bell. They showed me the exact color I was looking for so I asked the designer to come to my place, take the measurements and guess what the catch was? I wanted the suit to be made in ONE DAY. That meant no alterations but perfect fit. I had back-up plan ready for some formal shirt and trouser but heart wants what it wants. I sort of trusted them since they are new and would go extra length to satisfy my appetite. The next day I tried my suit and IT FIT PERFECT!
I'm so elated and satisfied with the fit and how it turned out to be. Just really happy. I got PLENTY of compliments; even from the cabin-crew of the flight I boarded. That's what you want at the end of the day- if it was worth it or not! :)

Check it out
